Just about everywhere in the Caribbean is much busier and more expensive around Xmas time. | 2
Dec 15 marks the beginning of high season for airfares and rental houses and drops off a week after New Year Day when airfares are discounted to the end of Jan before going up again in Feb. Dec 25 is just another day on the calendar for the average working Cuban unless he has families or relatives or lovers coming to Cuba bearing Xmas presents. New Year Day is the big day for Cubans spent with the family over dinner and drinks and a party at whoever has the biggest house and loudest stereo player. For me there is nothing special about Dec 21 to 31 except it’s warmer in Cuba than Canada. Maybe for Santa Claus it’s special to come once a year. | 3
