Hi All
I am female going on my own to Cuba and have been recommended by many to stay in casa however I am really nervous about finding one and what doesn't help is that I do not speak Spanish. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel near the city centre that is not over about 100 CUC per night and still in ok shape?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Hi
I'm going to Cuba in May and would like to get myself aquainted by reading a few books set in Cuba, fiction or non-fiction, do not mind as long as they are absorbing and well written. Do any of you have any recommendations for me.
Since so many posts dealt with the ridiculous speculations pundits everywhere were spouting about what would happen when Castro dies, I thought it only fitting that we now speculate wildly about what will happen after he lives.........

A friend and I are travelling to Cuba in April then on to Grenada and Barbados for the cricket world cup.
We have flights booked from Gatwick to Havana. Grenada to Barbados and barbados to Gatwick. But no flights booked from Havana to Grenada.
When booking our flights the travel agent said there were no direct flights from havana to grenada and that it would be easier and cheaper to book in cuba.
Is this true? What transfers and airlines can people suggest? Havana to central america then grenada…
Can I bring a miniDV video camera in Cuba? Will I be allowed to get into the country with it? (I'll have blank tapes as well). Any experiences with taping? Hassles, etc?
Hola,
We´d really like to get from Quito in Ecuador to Havana. Can anyone help us with the best way to get there? don´t care if it's by boat, plane or camel, keen for something that is both cheap and fast (though will probably sacrifice at least one of those...).
Helps?

Hi fellow travellers!
We (couple in late 20s) are going to travel in Mexico in April. We have time (at least we think we have) to book a flight from Cancun to Havana and then back. I've checked Cubana airlines - which seems reasonable. Can anybody confirm that this is the right choice ? :)
Secondly, what would you do if you only had 4 full days there (beaches aren't important).. ?!
Lastly, anybody able to recommend a casa in Havana that could be booked in advance (and perhaps have a website?)).

Does anyone know of a reputable hotel in Havana that rents safe deposit boxes even if you are not staying at the hotel? Would like to keep my passport and extra cash in one.
Thanks
Being a UK citizen, I can stay in Cuba for upto 60 days (30 days tourist visa - plus 30 days renewal), though if for example I wish to stay for something like 80 days- would it be possible to leave the country around day 55 (take a flight over to cancun for a couple of days) and then return to Cuba on a new tourist visa. Has anyone had experience of doing this? and if so, did it raise suspicion etc on coming back into Cuba? Any problems?
