Hello again everyone,

I am planning an extended stay for next year. I want to stay about 6 months and I am wondering if anyone can tell me the ins and outs of this. Do I need an A2 visa or can I just stay a tourist on a long trip? I am also looking for a private apartment with two bedrooms that I can rent. I don't mind if it's not legal. Does anyone know of anything?

Are Cubans (accompanying a foreigner) permitted to get to the outer pier at Marina Hemingway where you can lie in the sun and swim - its behind the parking and some rocks. This was possible some years ago but I haven't been there since.

I am looking to spend some time in the Bahamas and Haiti/Dominican Republic while using Cuba as my base, however the prices of the tickets seem to be exorbitant - $300+ return for each.

Is there a cheaper way to island-hop around the region? Cuba does not seem to be served by many ferry links as well.

I am a massive football ("soccer" to Americans) fan and I will be travelling to Cuba in the third week of May.

I am currently thinking about a trip to Cuba this summer. I am a high school teacher in new york, and an american citizem, and would like to establish a 'pen pal'/'digital classroom' connection for my students. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for the following:
