Dear Forum:
Assuming that price is no object (and it isn't), what are the very best accommodations available in La Habana (not in a hotel)?
What I'm looking for is a stately home (or estate) in the Miramar district (or where the diplomats live, I forget the name of the neighborhood)
that will be suitable for 4 individuals (each with their own room) and something like a cook, maid staff, driver, and/or concierge/butler during the duration of the stay.
I'm looking for a place that will be suitable…
From an ex-brit who lives in mexico but still likes a good cuppa in the morning (or actually, even a bad cuppa): we'll be staying in casa particulares. are they likely to serve tea as well as coffee for breakfast? if not, would they be likely to find it offensive if I asked for hot water and used by own tea bag? is the milk in cuba fresh, or is it canned/long-life etc?
thanks!
¡Tumbala, tumbala, tumbalaaa!
Anyone in the mood for some Hot Hot Salsa? The first one is hot but by the third, she's tan caliente que me quemo! This woman was invited to perform in Cuba one year ago because she's fantastic! I saw her sing with Tito Puente and her performance was so unbelievable she left Tito in the dust. That video will likely be posted on youtube soon.
If only I could figure out what she was saying! Can anyone help?
You will appreciate the click:

Hi All,
I'm a US filmmaker and would like to go to Cuba leagally if at all possible. I think I qualify for a specific license for a freelance journalist, but am not sure if this covers filmmakers or only print journalists. The treasury department won't return my calls, and won't let me stay on hold long enough to get a live person. Has anyone done this before? Any hints?
If I can't get a permit, I'm looking at going through Mexico. Has anyone done this since US citizens need a passport to…
Yes, yes, I do know that there have been several posts about this but I would like to revisit it as my party will NOT be buying our CUN to HAB tickets beforehand. Any ideas/suggestions on how to approach this or if this is a good idea at all. We will be arriving mid June.
Hi there,
I will soon be visiting Cuba. There are so many casa's. Does anyone hase a tip for a place to stay in Havana Vieja? If possible with a link to an internet site.
I have seen some nice things about cajo levisa. The lonely planet doesn't really say many things about it. Is it recommandable or should I go to another beach? If you have tips, please let me know.
I'll start in Havana and I will also visit Vinales & Trinidad. I only have 2 1/2 week. Any tips where else to go? I don't like…
Anyone else got a troll number now? Check the moderator's bio! At least I got a nice number :-)
I'd like to bring an unlocked phone to Cuba for use with a local Cubacel contract.
Any ideas where this can be found in the US?
I'm an African regular and used this forum briefly prior to a brief trip to Cuba. I'm amazed at the amount of political bias on this forum, and the lead post about flames doesn't surprise me in the least.
Surely if you have an axe to grind there are much better forums full of impressionable people who might actually take you seriously. I know from years of experience that the average TT participant is unlikely to be taken in by all the bullshit, but WILL take pleasure from baiting you (well, I…
Hi everybody
I am planning to visit Cuba next September and since I am going alone and I cannot share prices, i want to know wich is the fare (more or less) for accomodation in casa particular or places like that.
I am on Low-medium budget.
A friend of mine told me I can find clean places for 10 Euros. Is it true?
Thanks in advance
Irina
