What can anyone tell me about guanabo and the playas del estes part of cuba. I have seven days in cuba and will be in havana the last three. I am trying to decide where to go for my first four days. It's pretty much down to guanabo or trinidad. Trinidad sounds very nice but it's farthur away. I definitly want to see real cuba(eliminating veradero) but also want to relax a bit by the beach. If anyone has any advice please write me back.
Thanks
On my last research trip to Cuba I met with a number of Cubans who are well versed on the Cuban tourism industry. They advised me that the top people in Cuba are very concerned about the poor 2006 season. These are some of the changes coming :::
1. Most hotels / resorts will be upgraded.
2. Planes landing fees will be reduced.
3. The price of avaition fuel will be reduced.
4. Thirty new hotes / resorts are in planning stages.
5. The value of the Cuban $ CUC may be reduced.

hi all,
HELP! please. i am currently travelling through south america and thought a side trip for a few weeks to cuba would be great.
i then started reading some of the posts on this thread (very imformative and amusing btw) and after reading about the prices of things there have just about been frightened out of going (i am currently in bolivia!).
so, my question (to people who have been) is: is it worth going? (i can afford it, but i am looking to be sold on it)
thanks so much much guys,

Does anyone know if there are direct flights from anywhere in the Caribbean, Mexico or Central America to Cienfuegos?
Anyone know why the advisory about the sketchy casa in Santiago was deleted?
It seems Cuba doesnt have any of the major international car rental places and non of the cuban companies I have read about Ive never heard of..in your experience which company has been the most realiable?for me its very important that when I get to my destination they actually have a car for me.
Also are you usually allowed to pay with creditcards?in my case a Canadian issued one (Bank of montreal)
Thanks
This is a twist on the old "what gifts should I take to to Cuba?" I was wondering what products anyone has ACTUALLY taken to Cuba that have in turn been useful in generating an income for the recipient. I seem to remember past postings suggesting products like DVD burners, gameboys. How useful are they? Anything else? Please suggest things that are of a manageble size as for the second time in six months I will be responsible for a 20kgm bag of medical supplies(and yes Rickie - inside the use…
Hi all,
Perhaps someone here can answer a question for me. My husband is going to Cuba for a few days to visit family. He is going legally with a religious license. He will be flying from and returning to Miami. I know that cigars and rum are prohibited to bring back. What I am wondering is if he brings back movie posters, can they be confiscated too? I have looked on the treasury website but can't seem to find coherent information about importing cuban artwork. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Finally some of the most sage and savvy minds in America's great repository of journalistic genius will be able to report directly to us unwashed masses about what is REALLY going on in Cuba FROM within the belly of the beast itself.
Brace yourself for revelation, kids, because Matt Lauer will report to us all from Cuba very soon..........

Hello Forum.
I'm about to undertake my third trip to the island in less than four months.
How likely am I to be interrogated over my frequent visits?
Who else travels several times a year and what are your replies and/or strategy?
Thank you!
Fernando
PS: the immigration agent after my second trip was surprised that i arrived a second time in less than a month but chose not to push it.
