Cuban authorities have made progress in clearing debris following Hurricane Irma. Major roads are now mostly open in Havana. Power and water service is being restored in most of the country, though some areas, including parts of Havana, remain without electricity and running water. North central Cuba suffered greater damage and should be avoided until further notice.

Due to damage sustained during Hurricane Irma, the Embassy will limit consular services until further notice. Visa interviews scheduled for September 7-22 are being rescheduled.

The Embassy will not receive documents or return passports, visas, or other documents until further notice.

The area around the U.S. Embassy in Havana suffered severe flood damage. Do not attempt to come to the Embassy at this time
