On March 28, I sailed on a 10-day "Cuba Intensive" cruise with Azamara. The following video is my own interpretation of a medley of traditional songs (I play the piano by ear, it's my hobby), and the video will show you photos I took during the cruise.

Some of the photos may only be of interest to me (like the house where I grew up), but the beauty of Cuba is undeniable. What a treat it was!

Thanks Sergio.

So the cruise stopped in Santiago and Havana?

Yes, that's what I found unique in this particular itinerary... I had always wanted to visit Santiago...

The ship docked in Havana for 3 nights, and also docked for the day in Cienfuegos and overnight (two nights) in Santiago.

I'm sure that as competition with the cruise lines heats up, other itineraries will show up. The basic problem is the poor infrastructure in Cuba to accommodate the tourist influx.

Nice stuff gracias Sergio.

Yes, very nice, Sergio. And you're right about the infrastructure limitations. Friends of mine booked a cruise about a year ago that was to have put into port in Gibara, Parque Humboldt, Santiago, Cienfuegos, Maria la Gorda, and finally Habana before heading back to Miami. The idea of a shipload of visitors wandering about Gibara was weird but not out of the question. But Parque Humboldt and Maria la Gorda? The whole idea was absurd, and seemed to indicate that nobody in the cruise company had ever set foot in Cuba. Fortunately for my friends, the cruise never happened, although I can't remember now just why.
