n April 27, a new issue of The Nation hits the magazine stands. It is devoted entirely to Cuba. "Cuba: What's Next?" contains pieces focused both on Washington and Havana, written by analysts such as Julia Sweig, Peter Kornbluh and Max Castro, as well as veteran Cuban journalist Rosa Miriam Elizalde. The issue is a must-read for reporters, activists, politicos and concerned
citizens. The Nation addresses the questions of what has happened in Cuba and in the United States in the nine months since his semi-tranfer of power to his brother Raul, and what will happen in U.S.-Cuban relations in the months to come. The Nation Website

You might also consider reading what the BOSS himself says in the last chapter of 100 Hrs With Fidel which is entitled....After Fidel; What?

OP

Another useful contribution, Rosa. Thanks for posting it. This is just too narrowly focussed on US issues for me. I'll stick to cigars.

Nifty post ttjpdo.

I didn't realize that most of the Nation's content was not behind a subscriber firewall.

Dave. . . .

The actual date of the issue is May 14. The articles are worth reading, especially the one describing the ongoing dynamics between the moderate Miami Cubans and the hard core mafioso, the latter still in charge tho being outnumbered by the younger moderates. There is an informative panel discussion between Alberto Coll, Peter Kornbluh, Saul Landau, William Leo Grande, Philip Peters, and Ramon Sanchez-Parodi. Trap; KY
