Hi to everyone in the forum. I will be in Cuba in june for 12 nights with 2 other friends. We want to rent a car , but due to the fact that, the rent cars are too expensive we want to rent this as less days as possible. So, we think to go by car to Trinidad and Cienfuegos and back to Havana.
The other option is to make these destinations by taxi.
I want to let me know how much approximately the taxi costs from Havana to Trinidad. I have seen different prices in the forum. Is there anyone who has done this distination by taxi, so as to let me know please?
Thanks in advance!

There is no such thing as standard pricing in Cuba. There will be one price for tourists who will not know when to negotiate and when to simply accept. There will be a much lower price that only Cubans will get. And there will be a third price in between for either a mixed tourist / Cuban couple or very experienced tourist. Prices will also vary for a new fast air conditioned taxi vs price for a ride in an old car. Prices depend on if you have your own dedicated taxi arranged in advance to pick you up at your casa at some specified time or if you find a car at the bus station looking for passengers and with a few open seats who will leave when they have sold all available seats in the car.

General rule is that a dedicated taxi will cost somewhere around 4X the price of a Viazul ticket.

TaxiinVinales.com prices seem to be normal pricing plus about a 25-33% premium for their booking service.

But everything is variable.

Ditto #4 and #5.
The price ranges cited are accurate and up to date.
For a Vinales taxi type price expect a brand new car with air con etc.

Thanks for your help guys. So, I have to wait a price approximately 100 cuc for 3 people with negotiation. Where is the best place to take a taxi? Outside from viazul or to ask from my casa owner to arrange me in order to pick me up from my casa?
Thanks again!

Again, it depends.

If you want your own taxi with your own driver previously arranged to pick you and your party up at your casa at your time, that will cost somewhere around 130 CUC or so for as many as will fit but may vary widely. This probably, but not certainly, will be a newer car probably will air conditioning..

If you want to take the next 3 seats in the next car leaving the bus station heading to Trinidad, you will probably pay somewhere around 20 CUC per seat but may vary widely. This probably will be an old American car and will leave only when all seats are sold.

So it's a risk. I don't know what to do. Maybe the rent of a car is a little bit more expensive (with gas) than take a taxi, plus the stress that we have for the car (break up, steal etc..)
