Hi guys. I have a Cuban friend who lives in Greece and asked me to take back to him pesos cigars which have 1cuc per 25 cigars. He told me that is difficult for a tourist to find them but I can find in bodegas. Do you know any bodega or another place where I can find them?
Thanks in advance!

Tell your casa host what you're looking for and ask him where the nearest bodega is.

I believe "bodega" is the term used for stores that distribute / sell items included in the libreta. Thus a foreigner cannot do business there. A "tienda" is the term for stores that sell basically the same merchandise but in unlimited quantities. They appear the same as you walk in the door. Every neighborhood has both.

I buy bundles of peso cigars in our local tienda. I believe tiendas only accept CUP as payment. A full bundle of cigars is 25 CUP, same value as a CUC, but you must have CUP.

As Yanquiboy says, simply ask your casa host.

Thanks for the replies guys. I asked this already from my host (I wrote this on Airbnb message) and he replied to me that this is out of his intention and will. This is why I'm asking you. If you have a place to recommend me is welcome.

Ask just about any Cuban where you can buy peso cigars, they're sold everywhere your average Cuban gets their beans and rice.

The tienda will take cuc. About 1.10 cuc... I just drop 2 cuc on the table if i don't have change or cup... The latter, rare for me. Otherwise 30 cup.

Of course a local Cuban will offer to get a bundle for you for 5 cuc, or more...lol

I have heard of people paying 20cuc for a bundle. A great business for middlemen.

Why smoke good cigars when there are great cigars.

If you ask him face to face, you might get a different answer - if not ask the cleaner.
