no purses?

Of my countless trips to the stores in Havana, I was only ever asked to check my bag on 1 occasion, which I refused. I proceded to fill my hands with as many beers as I could carry, dropped them at the cash, and paid....no issue.....

In most stores, which sell for CUC, I've had to leave my bag(s), with items previously purchased elsewhere, at the entrance. This applies especially to food stores. No big deal.

This is common in many places, not just Cuba. Nothing to get excited about...
