Sorry I thought you lacked funds overall. If it is just a lack of access to your bank account then simply take more cash to take into account emergency needs. But that is not how your posts about needing to wait for paychecks AFTER arriving in Cuba read?
And the insurance question?

The shortest flight takes half a day door to door
Cuban resorts are God's Waiting Rooms
Any trip of less than a month is not worth getting out of bed for
Anybody relying on a single source of funds whilst travelling is an idiot

If it was any other country, I would go with what I have available at the beginning, then when I get paid I have access to that money through ATM/debit card. In Cuba, that is not possible. Plus carrying 15K+ (what I'm going to end up taking with me) in cash makes me nervous!!!

I will have insurance that will include any emergency evac etc. I usually buy through the same company whenever I go abroad.

Really - have you checked that company actually provides coverage in Cuba? And they have the capacity to pay for bills including emergency evacuation whilst you are STILL in Cuba as opposed to refunding what you AFTER your return to USA?

You're going for 4 weeks and you are taking 15K+ - what happened to the $500 at 15 per day? I thought your accommodation and 2 meals a day were organised?

Whoops, that should have been 1.5K. hahaha, missed the dot. Yes, lodging and 2 meals are organized, so 1.5K for 4 weeks should give me about 45 CUC a day - hopefully more comfortable!

I'm looking into the insurance now. I just assumed they would cover in Cuba, but maybe not. Thanks for the tip!

Ah that's better. I was going to offer to mind your bag with the 15K in it LOL.
