I generally filter out judgment and look for information that I can act on. I'm pleased that I 'm giving her a good deal and then some. She's earned it. And I take it that the musicians are over the top. She did ask for a bottle of nice perfume from the usa. I plan to come through on that. I take care of those who take care of me.

Lol... If it wasn't so funny, it would be sad.
You can't buy love but you can rent it. Applies to you.
You really need to get out more.
I have been coding, probably, before you were even born.

Older men/younger Cuban women is a way of life in Cuba, not just with tourists. Many of the older Cuban guys I know have ditched their older wives and traded them in for a younger model. Younger Cuban women hook up with older Cuban men, leaving thousands and thousands of 50-year-old women alone. It's part of the Cuban culture.
Cubans never, ever judge younger Cuban women who have an old tourist sugar daddy. Unlike Yumas, Cubans are far more understanding of the entire scenario. Say, for example, you are a 21-year-old woman living with your grandparents who each get an 8 dollar a month pension. Your mother does not work, your father has a job that earns $15/month. You have a younger brother or sister. There are no jobs and when one becomes available nepotism rules and if you don't know the boss, forget about it. You luckily find an older tourist man. You spend, say 6 weeks a year with him. You now have a washing machine, a microwave, a cell phone, a sim card, a new rice and pressure cooker, sheets for your family's beds, toys for your little brother, beer for all the men in the family when he visits. Sex is as national sport in Cuba. It's no big deal. There's no "dating" , no "dinner and a movie". you go to the town park, hang out, hook up. if you're going to do the horizontal shuffle, might as well do it with someone where you can better your family.
These relationships are a simple exchange of services, where the girl goes back to her Cuban boyfriend when the Yuma leaves. Her family benefits immensely and so does the local economy in the town in which she lives. She's not some drug -addled woman in a dark back alley turning tricks for 10 bucks. No one has forced her to do this (other than the economic situation in Cuba, and in many cases, the growing love for "things" ie capitalism/greed)
So she's totally non-plussed by the arrangement, her family's is provided for an is happy, they supply the pig for the neigbours for fiestas with her new found wealth an d the old Yuma gets to reinforce his "I'm the MAN-look what I have on my arm..I 'm a studmuffin who's still got it."
Entirely different culture from what many of you are used to
Perdona to all posters who are in true, loving monogamous relationships, as I know many people such as these as well
Lots of Canadians think Trudeau was a scumbag for praising Fidel upon his death,is that what you're referring to? One thing great about living in a democracy and not Cuba is the freedom to speak your mind freely on the internet about anyone, anything and never having to worry about someone monitoring your words so they could put you away or harass you, nothing worse than living in a society as a grown up where the government is forever treating you like you an infant who should know better.

Yes, completely accurate and true, for those that are not looking to leave the country. There is some/a lot overlap between the two.
On another note......Many years ago, my wife was talking to a14 year old in her barrio and asked her, what she wanted to be when she grew up. She replied, like her neighbor, a jinetera. She has nice clothes, money, things and always going out to nice places.

That "trading in for a new model" is sad. The Chica that I'm talking about specifically told me that she has no interest in taking some lady's husband. She said that she generally doesn't spend time with tourists, but has had a number of friends with benefits arrangements with older Cuban guys. She has no patience with people who don't speak Spanish.

SDET...seems like you must have really swept her off her feet...I mean you are a sex tourist right? Not her usual. Good for you!!

One thing that she explained to me: It might be OK in Havana to put things in their most vulgar terms, but in Villa Clara, she is a companion and I'm a "special friend ". The phrase it otherwise is offensive.
