Good Day All
I am looking for a house to rent in Guanabo( or any of the east beaches). Preferably it would be right on the beach, with a pool and more than two bedrooms. All this and I would like a reasonable price too! As I realize that all of this is unlikely my order of preference is pool, on the beach, more than two bedrooms, cheap. If you know that the house will be vacant from March 15 to March 21 that would be a bonus. Please give name and/or contact information of any houses you know of that match these descriptions. I have already tried the various websites and so I guess I am trying to find a hidden gem here. Thanks to all who reply, and thanks to those who have responded to my various PM's, your help is greatly appreciated.

1) right on the beach in Guanabo....... many casas
2) pool................................................ none
3) more than 2 bedrooms....................illegal

I know of one casa that has a pool in Guanabo but it is not near the beach.

In Tarara they used to rent multi room bungalows, with pools but they are no longer available (as of about 1 year now). They were very inexpensive, cheaper than many casas/room. Part of Cubanacan, I think.

Why smoke good cigars when there are great cigars.

Thanks for the response Gres
I know that more than two bedrooms is illegal but I also know that many places have more than two especially as you move towards the higher end places. Is it possible to get the contact info for the place you mentioned with the pool?

NOT in Guanabo, but about 40 minutes further east, in Playa Jibacoa, VILLA LOMA JIBACOA rents multi-room bungalows perched on a bluff overlooking a lovely little cove beach. There is a pool (shared by the 5 or 6 other bungalows), but it is not always filled in the winter. By this time of year, though, I would expect it to be. I have rented a one-bedroom duplex there in the past for 45 CUC; can't say how much one of the bungalows would be. Or whether some had three bedrooms (but I think one or two of them might have.)

Whoa, whoa, whoa !! Let's RTFQ and answer the Op's question, OK?

Rental HOUSES are available from Islazul in Boca Ciega. That's between Guanabo and santa Maria del Mar. I have personally checked these out. There are thirteen 1 to 4 bedroom houses available which come complete with dishes, curlery and linens. It's right out of the fifties, with a small grocery store and a good restaurant and the #400 bus stop all within two blocks. Its less than 100 metres across the sand dune to the Strait of Florida. I've lost the little slip of paper on which I had my hen scratching but the Moon guide P.462 lists the prices (at the time of its publication) as running between USD 25 and 38 daily. I would double that. The rental office is on 1ra avenue and has a shop and bar / bistro. Telephone 96-2771.

I don't remember that there was a pool. I think not. OP will have to determine availability with Islazul.

Rosa and David...........

Do wither of you know what the policy of the house was about Cubans visiting or spending the night?

I am always looking for a place where I can bring my girl's family to go swimming and have a BBQ or a nice big dinner. It would be great if they could all crash out for the night but I know it could realistically only be a day trip for everyone but my girl.
