Hi I am wondering if anyone has flown Virgin Atlantic to Cuba in late July to early August this year. We are looking at booking flights at this time of year for 2018. Not sure if I should wait as they are around 850 pounds at the moment and I see they sometimes the fares go as low as 460 pounds at other times of the year. We are already flying from New Zealand to UK so do not want to pay more than we have to, although we don't want to miss out either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The summer time is the of peak tourist season in Cuba.As with any other place, the earlier out you buy tickets the cheaper they tend to be.It's possible that as Cuba steps up its tourist business to compete with the rest of the Caribbean that you might start seeing some deals, especially since this hurricane .

They can go lower than £850 for July/August. It's whether you want to hold your nerve and chance it. They can go a lot higher. UK flights seem to have interesting algorithms where booking very early doesn't seem to guarantee you the best price. I don't think you're likely to get tickets for under £700 for that period, though.
Virgin has a monopoly on direct flights from London to Havana, so they have you over a barrel. If you're able to do indirect, I think Germanwings/Eurowings have good deals sometimes. Check skyscanner.

I got Virgin flights from Gatwick to Havana last week flying out 17/3/18 and returning 16/4/18 for £390! If you're flexible with your timing they might still be available.
