Excellent cinematography, especially for the early 60's, but pure communist propaganda. Easily available on Netflix.

Is this the Spanish language, Russian overdubbed, English sub titled movie shot in Cuba?

It is a wonderful film as much because of rather than despite the propaganda it is a true historical gem. The version I saw was english subtitled.

A pal of mine works in the film biz and he was given a copy of "Soy Cuba" as a outstanding example of cinematography but as Al notes, the story is a bit overdone. Maybe spend a little more on the screen play next time.
