Looking for opinions. My 13 year old son and I will be flying into Havana in the next two weeks. We have 10-12 days total. Our options for departure airport are Santa Clara, Camaguey, or Holguin (well, Havana too. But to maximize our time I was thinking of doing one way versus round trip back to Havana). Given our time limit, we are thinking Havana, one, maybe two, other towns, and the final departure city. His interests are music (he plays the sax); nature (birds, snorkeling, wildlife); baseball; and food. Which departure city would you choose? Travel is primarily bus. Would also be happy for suggestions on where and how to best expose him to a variety of Cuban live music. Baseball tips as well. Thank you in advance.
It's a good thing to be flying out of another city airport. More time/maneuverability to see other places. Santa Clara is definitely the closest to Havana and that would allow you to visit Vinales, Mantanzas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus (but not all of them).
Havana alone should take care of all your music needs.
