Casa owners running into payment issues with AIR BnB Cuba

Seems as though Cuba Casa owners are not receiving payments in a timely fashion and are owed back payments,solutions are complicated and the payment problem might not be easily resolved for a few different reasons one of them being taxes on income.If you use AIR BnB for Cuba make yourself aware of this growing problem,

‘They owe me $2,000,’ Cuban Airbnb host says of the company'
Cubans who rent homes to tourists saw the heavens open when Airbnb, an American company that connects guests with hosts renting their homes, offered them the opportunity to use its digital platform.

Everything “worked like clockwork,” says a Cuban hostess, “until they stopped paying me two months ago.” Airbnb now owes her $2,000 and the company has not told her when she can expect payment, she said.

This is just a guess. I am guessing the Cuban communist government maybe treating casa particular income as the same as salary for Cuban workers at foreign companies operating in Cuba. The government takes their salary in CUC's and gives the workers CUP's, like one for one. The Cubans are not paid by the foreign companies directly. Foreign companies lease Cubans workers from the communist government for CUC's, but the government pays the workers in CUP's. This is probably the most important reason Cuba needs two separate currencies and other countries do not.

To you maybe not so old.
It was the talk of the casa world in Cuba particularly Havana when we first arrived there beginning February and became bigger news over our 2 months away. There have been reports on various forums even on TA so do try to keep up.

Funny,I just got back after 3 weeks in Cuba with one in Havana, not a word about it from any of my hosts who I've known for years,let me tell them to sign up to TA for the latest news rather than rely on their own experiences or your world.

So the people in your own linked reports who cite this has been going on for at least "TWO months" are making this up because it doesn't accord with what your few frens tell you. You're now contradicting yourself - not for the first time.
