Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to double check my itinerary for CR this June and would appreciate any feedback you can share. My family consists of mom, dad and kids are 19 & 17. So we are up for some adventure, hiking, ziplining and capping it off with a beach stay.

Our first day is basically travel with a connecting flight in San Salvadore, arriving late in San Jose, so spending the night when we arrive - and not counting it as part of our 8 days.

Renting SUV and driving to La Fortuna/Arenal…

Hi everyone! I am travelling to Costa Rica 1 month next April. I need a way to go from Manuel Antonio - Quepos to Puerto Jimenez in the Osa Peninsula (15th April). Private transfers' prices are up to 400$ and I don't want to take a flight. Do you know any reliable company, shared vans... any other way?
Thank you in advance
Laura

Hello,

I am a solo female traveler planning to take the bus from Liberia, Costa Rica to Granada, Nicaragua to visit my grandma. This will probably be the last opportunity I will get to see her. I speak Spanish but am a young female and traveling alone. The bus trip would be 6 hours and I would need to go through immigration and back to Costa Rica for a wedding.

My grandmother says it's gotten safer in Nicaragua, but she doesn't take the bus very often to Costa Rica. Has anyone taken a bus from…

Hi everyone,

We're taking a bus from Panama City to San Jose in a few weeks. The bus arrives at 3am in San Jose bus terminal. Just wanted to know if it's easy/safe to get a cab to our hotel from here at that time or should we try and find a daytime arrival?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello dear travelers, next December my wife will spend some weeks travel in Costa Rica. And kindly ask for your advice:
What Could be the best/safest way to arrive to Tortuguero...
1. Leaving from San Jose, is it better by shuttle or public bus?
2. And then going from Tortuguero to Puerto Viejo via Moin. What is the best way to get there?

Any advice based on recent experience?

Thank you.

We do not live in fear, we read some reports on nasty situations getting there though:

I am curious about things to do and areas to see of Costa Rica very near the Panamanian border on the Pacific side. I am thinking of overnight trips so anywhere under 2-3 hour bus rides. I like the jungle and nature and would not be against a swimming pool.

Hello,
We (33 yr old couple), are planning a two week trip to Costa Rica at the beginning of May, our approximate plan is to enjoy as much as much wildlife and biodiversity as possible at the start of our trip and end it with 3-4 beach days. I have laid out two possible trips we are considering in the following:

Trip #1
We fly into San Jose, take a domestic flight to the Osa Pennisula for ~3-4 days and explore Corcovado / Piedras Blancas National Parks. Return to San Jose by domestic flight and…

now i‘m very interested in doing it on masaya. i know that it is not allowed to camp there but i have the following questions:

did anyone of you do camping on the crater despite it is illegal?

is the volcano in the night guarded by security persons?

is it theoretically possible to hike up from the behind and camp there that no one can see it?
