https://www.wmf.org/project/naranjo
Part of Parque Nacional Yaxhá Nakúm Naranjo. They said last year there were 165 people working on the Naranjo ruins. Are they ready for visiters? Any transport to get there? Melchor de Mencos is not supposed to be the safest place, old women tell me to be on my way out of town before dark. I have not been there lately.

Whats up ?????

Do they have alfombras or make a big deal out of semana santa in Peten?

Update: While our initial plan was to make this an 8-night trip, I've decided to bump it up to 10 nights. With this new plan, I have added one additional night in San Ignacio. But then we have one more night to play with and would like your advice. Here's the tentative plan:
Day 1 - arrive at BZE, travel to SI, stay at Chaa Creek camp casitas.
Day 2 - ATM cave tour, stay at Chaa Creek
Day 3 - explore SI - Green Iguana Project, etc., stay at Chaa Creek
Day 4 - Travel to Tikal, explore on our own…

My laptop has crashed so I need to buy a new one. I've already been to Guatemala which seems quite cheep for electronics, and I'm in Honduras at the moment where they don't really have much. I'm headed to El Salvador tomorrow, then on south through Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Question is, should I go back to Guatemala first to buy a laptop there, or will I be able to find a decent one in El Salvador or Nicaragua?

Hi all, haven't seen this topic covered for a while. I'll only have time for 1 set of islands, travelling alone & on a budget if that makes any difference. Thanks

Hi everyone,

I leave in 15 days, so far I only have my roundtrip flight and nothing else booked. I would be happy booking the first and last few days of accommodation, leaving days in the middle for being spontaneous and going with the flow, as long as I have a rough idea of areas. After a lot of reading in this forum (and I also got the Moon guidebook to CR, as suggested) I know that the Caribbean side of CR is just what I am looking for.

I am a female solo traveller (fluent Spanish speaker)…

Have a surf trip planned to go to Pavones, CR during mid June. While my gf and I were down there we wanted to spend a little time in Bocas Del Toro, PAN. Whats the easiest way to get from Pavones to Bocas Del Toro or vice versa. If its easier to fly into Panama and then finish out our trip in Pavones that's fine too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

3 nights in Arenal
Depart by private transfer to SJO mid-morning and take flight to Drake Bay

Hello,
We will be travelling for 10-11 days to Costa Rica mid August with two young kids (3 and 7 years old). We will start by one week in Manuel Antonio and are looking for another spot where to spend 3 days before heading back to san Jose. We were initially thinking of Arenal but I read that it rains a lot in that area at this time of the year. Travelling to Nicoya peninsula from Manuel Antonio with the ferry looks very attractive but I am concerned that it is a too long and difficult trip…

Hi all, I have emailed English-speaking archaeologist and guide Roxy Ortiz who comes highly recommended in this forum and elsewhere (to see, do a search here and on TripAdvisor). She is available on March 3rd for the sunrise tour and I’d like to hire her but I am a solo traveller but the fee is too high for me alone, as she said she currently doesn’t have anyone else going. The cost is $75 USD with minimum of 2 people, for any additional person, it would be $30pp to join an existing group. I’m…
