How safe is it for a female to travel on her own? Is there always backpackers that you saw that speak English along your trip or did you find that there were only a few?
I am a female from Canada travelling on my own. I have my wits about me, but sometimes too much paranoa is not good either. Where are the main places to see that have the english speaking tourists and backpackers? Any good hostels in La Ceiba that is recommended or other places in Hondruas? Nicuragua?
I speak very little spanish…
My boyfriend and I are traveling Costa Rica for 10 days in April. We are flying into SJO (San Jose) and going to Los Suenos and then leaving from Los Suenos to go to Punta Islita and flying out of SJO. What's the best way to get to Los Suenos from SJO? Should we rent a car or get a car hire? What about transportation between Los Suenos and Punta Islita? I am thinking of flying, but is driving doable? Is our best option from Punta Islita back to San Jose flying?
Would appreciate any help…
Hi,
I would like to spend some time in Torguguero - maybe a week - I have to work on my laptop each day, however, so I need know if there's any internet access there - especially wi-fi.
I gather there is budget accommodation too?
Thanks a lot.
Sorry for the double post, but since it deals with the two different continents....
I know this question has been asked over and over. However, I'm wondering if anyone has direct experience, or knows of people who have taken a boat to Cartagena. I am not interested in paying $250 dollars for the inclusive-yahct-cruise-boat deal, which I've seen adversited in Hostals around PC.
I have heard this is possible and can be done for less than $100 dollars, but would like to hear of an first or second…
Thank you to all that have replied to my posting. I have tried to get to the Hotel Marparaiso via internet but have not been successful. If you have an internet address or a phone number I would greatly appreciate it. Where is the hotel? Is it near the Airport or in Panama City? I have also sent an email to the Hotel Covadonga and they have not replied. Any suggestions? We will be leaving Thursday so this is most Urgent.
Sincerely,
Copper

About 5 years ago when i was in Honduras, someone mentioned they visited a hotel in ES that was inside a long dormant volcano. I have my doubts, and as a bet with one of my spanish students, I need to find this place (or disprove its existence!) ASAP!!! Anyone with info on a hotel inside a volcano or anything relating please repost.
thanks
Myself and some friends are thinking about heading to Nicaragua for Semana Santa. Is there a town that is best for experiencing festivities surrounding the holiday? Granada? Leon? Also, if you were in Nicaragua for that week, what would your itinerary be?

Hi,
We are going to CR next week and we want to visit Tortuguero NP. We prefer to travel independently so we don't think of taking any packages from SJO.
And because we have a small kid we need an accommodation in Tortuguero village that is clean and where you can sit outside while your munchkin sleeps.
Can you recommend any?
Thanks in advance,
Alicja
