Hi, I'm going to Central America this summer and had planned to start in Guatemala between 9th and 30th July. I'd hoped to be in Antigua for a week (Spanish course) and then Monterrico for the next two (a volunteer project). I'd then go to the Honduran coast before stopping at Tikal on my way to Belize.

However after the sad news of the eruption of Fuego this week I don't know whether I should change this. I've read that Antigua is predominantly ok now but that travel down to Monterrico is…

My boyfriend and I are planning on travelling to Guatemala from June 11th-June 25th and was wondering what the conditions are like right now after the eruption? Our plans were the following:

Antigua, Lake Atitlan, Seamuc Champey, Flores, Tikal, Monterrico.

Is it safe to travel right now after the eruption? Or would it be wise to change our itinerary or postpone our trip as a whole? Anyone who is there now that could give some advice would be awesome :).

I am wondering if i have to pay the fee twice in case i go from Blz to Flores and then from Flores to Mexico via Blz?
If that is the case then could i and how would i go from Flores directly into Mexico and skip Belize? It will be shame to pay 20usd just to transit. Would i have to pay any tax to enter to Mexico in either border?
