My sister and I are going to Belize at the end of November. We are in our early 60s but are active and love to hike, canoe, etc. We are trying to plan a trip that is not too harried, nor expensive, and can meet our mildly different interests. That would be things like jungle hiking, wildlife viewing, birding(just me), seeing the ruins, cave tubing, snorkeling, maybe canoeing or kayaking, local music and food. We have a limited budget.

As I read it seems to make sense to leave Belize City…

Hi!
My partner and I are planning on going on (currently) an indefinite trip around Central and South America around March/April next year (2019).
Would anyone have any advice on the following?
- How easy/ safe is it for a UK citizen to buy a motor home abroad (second hand, low budget).
- Is it best to buy or rent a motor home?
- How easy is it to travel from country to country?

If anyone has any experience/advice/links to discussions about this I'd be most grateful!
Thanks :)

Harry

Hi,

I was supposed to be going with the fam for a one week trip to an all-inclusive. Tried to shift that to one week in a nice beach town somewhere, and now plans have changed again - I am going to go solo (parenting) with my six year-old.

I've travelled fairly extensively over CA, have probably spent about 2 months in Mexico, Guatemala, Panama and Costa Rica with very short stays in El Salvador and Honduras. Favourite spot was Guatemala, but this is influenced by the fact that it was my first…

Hi, I'm a solo female traveller and will be heading to Costa Rica for 2 weeks towards the end of August (and I may pop over the border into Panama too). I'm mostly interested in wildlife photography and hiking. I realise there's quite a lot of choice when it comes to National Parks that are filled with an incredible array of wildlife, and just wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for NPs that are particularly good in August, especially ones that aren't too busy, have cheap…

Im visiting Puerto Jimenez in December and need to make my way to Drake bay on January 1st. Im not certain if this is a holiday date in CR and if buses and collectivo would have any changes. Can anyone suggest how to make the trip please- Cant seem to find up to date info on buses and im worried about the holidays making a difference.
I am assuming that the option of renting a car in PJ and leaving it in Drake Bay would be very expensive.

Hello all,

I leave tomorrow for an 8 day jungle retreat near La Fortuna, after which my wife will be flying down to join me for 2 weeks of exploring CR by bus. We are planning to stay in AirBnBs or hostels, and will each have a 30L backpack only.
Our Spanish is minimal, so this is a concern (Belize was no problem, not so sure about CR) when it comes to getting around and communicating. I will try to study on the plane... :)
I will need to stay at and AirBnB near the airport to meet her for a 7am…

I arrive very late at Guatemala airport on 18 December. I want to take a Pullman bus to Xela the following day. I thought I should book in advance to be sure of a seat, but I'm not sure how to do this. I can't find a booking site. I rang them, but no one spoke English and I don't speak Spanish.
What should I do? I think it would be risky to turn up without a reservation.
Does anyone know if there's a toilet stop? I don't think I would survive 4 hours without.

If there is a website, I would…

Hi,
I have a flights connection stop at Panama for 8 hours (meaning 4-5 hours) and wondered whether there's a nice beach close to the airport where I could go? Panama City is too far...
Thanks!
