Weather in Bocas del Toro?

Country forums / Central America / Panama

Hello,

Can anyone give me a first-hand idea of what kind of weather I can expect in Bocas del Toro in mid-September?

I've read online it's one of the driest months of the year in the area but weather reports keep showing high percentage forecasts for rain...

Thanks!

Rains all the time but only for 20 minutes each time and maybe 3 times a day.

@ atz 111 - do you live in Bocas ?

wish I did…been there a lot

last time was a while back…was really starting to boom

Well :-) I live in Panama-City and been to Bocas a lot since 2007 and I have always experienced a better weather in September (Feria del Mar) than in December and January...

well luck of the draw i guess….in general, it rains about 1/2 as much in Dec and January as in Sept…but as I said it is not constant and really does not interfere with much…good heavy shower to cool you off….rains 2 of 3 days...

The good thing is the sea is less rough in September and the same for San Blas.

Nobody knows really. That last few years have been to dry and the rainy seasons were not rainy. This year it seems as if the old patterns are back. It has been very rainy in Bocas a month and a half and has just started to get sunny again, for the last couple of days very sunny and very hot.

Dont take the rain chances to serious, those are usually quick rain showers and storms that typically pass in 30min or less.
