What boat? Lot of bad boats and bad captains...

Paul, if you'd only thought to check with us at www.mamallena.com and we would have been able to tell you that we banned Klaus and the Skidaddler from our list of boats to Colombia for many of the same reasons as you have stated threre. There were many backpackers who were prepared to pay peanuts for a cheaper trip(he had a good exchange rate for coconuts) but were unprepared to accept that when you pay peanuts you get port bottle dinghies and dolphin for dinner. We've taken to suggesting that when paying in coconuts you check to see that they float so you can use them for emergency flotation devices.

Be careful! Do not book in Cartagena with blue sailing. Check out the webpage directly from the boats or hostals like mamallena or casa viena. blue sailing cooperate only with colombians and spanish spoken skippers. of course few boats are other nationen but first the fill up the colombians and than the other boats. BAD BUSINESS

This is just untrue Life central America. Blue sailing works with a variety of foreign and Colombian captains and no one boat is given priority over another. We also take a flat fee from captains so that no boat is oversold because of the size of the commission. Passengers are given all of their options and then choose the boat that best fits what they are looking for. Their staff has done more then 50 trips so really know what the trips are like and can give you tips and guidance that many hostels can't. www.bluesailing.net

hi
me and my boyfriend are looking for a CHEAP way to get from Panama to Colombia (Portobelo - Cartagena). We can't afford paying $450-500, but we can help on the board. Does anyone knows about cheap boats that need staff?
