Proof of Measles Vaccination required?

Country forums / Central America / Honduras

Oh no! The US State Department website says " The Honduran government issued a declaration in May 2011 requiring proof of measles and rubella vaccination for all foreign travelers from North America, Europe, Africa, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. " This is the first I have heard of this, and we are leaving for Honduras in a week! Both of us had measles as children (we're in our 50's), but we have no proof of this. Are we going to be turned away at the airport?

I flew into Honduras in late May and nobody inquired about any of those concerns, The US State Dept is a joke...never heard of this on the forum, or Trip Advisor, nor on airline websites.

Do you have a yellow card? Make up a stamp (kits available at Office Max or similar) stating something convincing about the measles vaccine or any invented name of a travel medical clinic. Scrawl a signature over it. Yer done.

No yellow card? Sorry, I'm out of ideas.

Arrived in June and again in September of this year with no questions asked about vaccinations.

Thanks, everyone. That's what I suspected, but if there is anything to possibly worry about, I will! You have set my mind at ease, about that, anyway.
