panama to belize

Would 2 months be too short a trip from Panama City to Belize from May to July? I'd like hit the major spots in the more expensive countries (Panama, CR, Belize) and go slower through Honduras and Guatemala. Is this reasonable or will I be rushing?

I'm not good at sticking to strict itineraries or tours, so I'm thinking of budgeting $2400US max ($35/day + $300 for possible splurges). Would this be a reasonable budget staying in hostels?

Also, how wet is the wet season really? Will it make getting around difficult due to flooding or the beaches very unpleasant?

Yeh.. 2 months is going to be a blur. Your budget is good...personally I'd skip Panama and start in CR...just because of time. Might also consider skippin Belize...especially if running low on funds in the end. Internal flights in CA are expensive so stick to buses. It's just rain...you will manage. Barring a major hurricane(which by the way doesn't effect the whole region) any flooding will be very localized. ie. a bridge out. Probably going to be drier on the Pacific. You can monitor the weather down there on the net.
