panama city to bocas to david

hi yall,

i'll be in panama in march and only have 10 days. i'd like to do bocas and boquete via a bus ride out of david. does anyone have any recommendations for getting from panama city to bocas then to david?? i thought i could catch a flight from bocas to david then a flight from david to panama city at the end of my trip but the airline website is telling me otherwise. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes you can fly from Bocas to David and from David to Panama city. Which airline are you looking at? I know Aero Perlas does it, not sure about Panama air. You could also fly to Bocas and then bus it to David. It is about 3 hours from Almirante which is on the mainland from Bocas and a very beautiful ride.

thanks jacksongeorge! do you by chance know the name of a bus company i could use. also, do you think flying is the way to go because or the time restraint or do you think the scenic bus ride is worth the extra time?

It's a long bus ride (burning up a couple of your 10 days), plus, you have to get a boat to Bocas. Flights are relatively cheap -- http://www.aeroperlas.com/schedules_Fares.html

No bus company so to speak. Just get on the bus that says David. I think its like 7 dollars

It is up to you. The ride is nice but if its raining and/or the driver is drunk it might not be that great. I loved it but who knows. It is only 3 hours from from Almirante to David and about 40 minutes for the water taxi from Bocas town to ALmirante. You should fly from Panama City to Bocas because that is a long ride (12 hours?). I assume you are going to Boquete or some where around there from David. That is a one hour bus ride. After Bocas the cool mountains are like paradise.

the drive to david is very pretty and not that long, but you could fly there to....
and depending on time, a direct bus from david to panama city is 6 hours

david to boquette is a day trip

...the best bus trip if you do a long distance one is over the continental divide from david to bocas

....the best plane trip is bocas to panama city...super views all the way...i never tire of it

i would think one hour qualifies as a day trip...

We are having a hard time finding reservations and prices for a plane trip from Panama to Boquette. Can you make reservations online? We will only be in Panama for 6 days. We fly into Panama City. Will we have enough time to visit Boquette? Thanks!
