Hello | ||
Generally tourists can stay in Guatemala 90 days just by asking for it on arrival. You can then renew one time for another 90 days at the immigration office ini Gutemala City's zone 4. You may also renew by leaving the country for 72 hours and entering anew. There is only one catch, because of the new customs union of 4 Central American countries, only Mexico and Belize count for the 72 hour absence. San Salvador and Honduras don't count anymore for visa renewals. | 1
If you go to the Mexican border they will stamo anew without even leaving Guatemala. They didn't even ask for a bribe. If your customs officer isn't as nice as mine was I'm sure a few pesos will fix the problem. | 2
As #1 mentioned, there are 4 countries in the CA4 - Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. You have 90 days to travel within these countries combined, continuosly. You have to go to Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, or Mexico in order to "reset" your passport stamp for another 90 days. | 3
Thank you all! | 4 | |
