Is Tikal park open on January 1st?

Dear all

I´ve been looking on the web, but couldn´t find reliable information I´m searching for. We´ll be in Guatemala In Dec / Jan, including the NYE. I wonder if Tikal is open on the January 1st? I know it´s a public holiday in Guatemala, but otherwise information I found suggests Tikal is open every day. I know in Mexico and Thailand archaeological park are open on January 1. Hope it´s also the case for Guatemala, but would appreciate if someone could confirm it.

A few miles to the East, Yaxhá and Nakúm are open on 1-1, I was there 1-1-12. The village of Uaxactún a few miles to the North does not close.

Yaxha is nice, your entrance fee includes camping, bring plenty of food from town. a little deet for the ankles would be good

Yes, 365 days a year, 6am - 6pm.

Can always contact a lodge there, Jungle Lodge or Jaguar Lodge are at entrance.
