Is this a doable itinerary?

Country forums / Central America / Nicaragua

Hello--I'm asking for some more help from those of you who know Nicaragua well. I've read tons of old threads and asked lots of questions. Now we have come up with a tentative itinerary, and I'd like some comments to tell me if I am way off base as far as the logistics involved. My primary question now is transport time between places. We are middle-aged, not backpackers, and we can afford to pay for private transport to maximize our time. On the other hand, if there is fast, efficient bus transport between places, we'd be fine with that. Will this work out? I have a couple places in particular in my itinerary where I am wondering if the transfer times are realistic enough to make the trip worthwhile.

Nights 1-5. I've got this part figured out already.
Nights 6, 7, 8 transfer from Granada to the ferry to Ometepe for 3 nights there **I believe there is some sort of shuttle service for this
Nights 9 & 10 transfer Ometepe to Finca Esperanza Verde--stay there 2 nights **This is my major thing I'm wondering about.

Night 11 at Selva Negra
Night 12 airport hotel in Managua (we'd like to arrive by 19:00 or so.)

My major question is how to get from the ferry dock at Ometepe to Finca Esperanza Verde, and how long this will take. And, secondly, I need to get back to the airport from Selva Negra, but I am assuming that will be much less of a challenge. What are your thoughts?

So, is this a doable itinerary, and how can I best make these two connections work out most efficiently? Thank you once again.

From Ometepe to Finca Esp. Verde will be a very long trip if you use local transport. Since you have the cash for it and looking to transfer as quickly as possible, agree with above and hire a service like Paxeos. You can also check with Tierra Tours in Granada and see what sort of transport and prices they can offer.

The trip from Selva Negra back to Managua is pretty long as well... I can't remember exactly but on the local buses it was over 3 hours for sure. Best to use private transport as well for this leg.
