How much is it?

You can take the Linea Dorada bus for around $25US so why would you want to spend hundreds?

Like to the border or all the way to Belize City?

As mentioned by Greggo on #1 if you're going to spend hundreds might as well fly from Flores to Belize City on Tropic Air or Maya Airways for about $100 O.W.

Well, from Flores to the Belize border by taxi probably wouldn't be more than US$75 (for up to four persons), so it's not that big a deal.

When I was there 1.5 yrs ago my guide negotiated a cab from Flores-Tikal, wait while we spend the day exploring, then Tikal-Belize border for $80US plus lunch and a beer for the driver at Tikal. Of course, he caught us by surprise at the end by insisting on being paid in USD rather than Quetzales, which led to some frantic (and probably illegal) money changing, but apart from that it was well worth it. YMMV
