was just reading in the paper yesterday about people getting jacked for their expensive motos!

I don't completely believe it either.....but then again it doesn't much matter whether I believe it. I'm just reporting what I hear second and thirdhand. I can wait, trusting that the truthn (as it's known) will become apparent.

A dangerous FERRY as it does absolutely not fulfill the minimum international standard for RORO ferries (IMO/SOLAS) in international offshore business,
Also did not pass the annual safety inspection (ASI) and don't have the STCW certificate and CICA certificate as required for every commercial Panamanian vessel above 500 tones. Hopefully this can be stopped before some people have to die between Panama and Colombia.
COMMANDER of this ferry is a chef and not a sailor with bad experiences in maintaining ships (see FRITZ THE CAT his former boat which sunk on the same route because of bad maintenance and abuse of a light pleasure boat as a professional ferry)
Owner/COMMANDER decided to run this boat/ FERRY from Colombia to Carti/ Panama and take 100 passengers on deck ( no cabins ), and cargo of 25 vehicles, and 50 motorbikes. Who is going to inspect this boat/FERRY in Carti for drugs smuggling?
There are no officials and no facilities in Carti/Panama to control the drugs smuggling

I sailed this Ferry in August from Canada 2600 seamiles in 12 days to Panama without any technical or naviagation issues.
It's built in 1965 by an Canadian wharf, rewnouned for the warships they used to buld, from the same grade of Steel. It was run by the Canadian goverment with no regards of costs whatsever, so this ship has 2 Caterpiller 3512 Mainengines, 2 independent Propulsion systems, 3 Caterpiller generators, 2 indpendently operating rudders, doublé bottoms througtout the hull with ballast tanks, that kept her well operating in the rough Canadian seas all year round. The finest electronics a nevigator can dream of... The goverment of Canada maintained her well.
We got a Panamanian Flag, got her inspected and have valid papers- class certificates for 5 years and had the anual inspection. Our security systems are in good order.
We depart on Dicember 5th from Cartagena to Carti ( international port of entry to ¨Panama with all the nececerry authorities present.) and on Dic. 10th back to Cartagena.
I cannot understand, why "UnoMarcoPolo" acts in such a way...maybe we compete his business with our ferryservice

It would be nice to hear Ferrycaptain address some of the other, more substantial complaints against this ferry, e.g., that it took 6 days to complete a 1 day trip, that food ran short, that toilets were filthy and beds nonexistent, that departure was delayed several times with little warning, etc. etc. etc.
I wasn't there, but those who were have posted some scathing reports. I'd love to hear these addressed--here or on the other forums I monitor (ADVrider.com and horizons unlimited.com). Otherwise, the post directly above mine can be considered mere evasion, liberally salted with purest spam.

FerryCaptain vel Captain Ground, Carti isn't a port, just an outpost at the end of the road between Panama and mainland Kuna Yala.
This is a village, with a few concrete docks, and rough parking lot, NOT "international port of entry to ¨Panama with all the nececerry authorities present"
As per rest of your post and equipment - IDC.
Ein Haufen Lügen.

Ok i see that there are a lot of confusion here about this subject, My name is Manuel Gabriel De la hoz jimenez,
and i am the actual captain of the boat, i did study in the Military Academy of Colombia for NAVY officers, and i had worked before in cruise ship i'm only 27 years old, but i had study over 10 years in Navigation and i did bring the ship from Canada where it was bought.
- I have Done personaly all the paperwork of the ship, believe booth goverments from Panama and Colombia are tuff cokies, all that this people all that they really want is money.
- I have seen how my boss had spend over 2 millions of dollars in new elements on the boat, just to complaince with all the internationatial safety Regulations.
- We do have all the solas/omi/panama/colombia, certifications for passenger, oil polution, safety, load line, garbage and rest of documents we need.
- All of our crew are certified OMI SAILOR and Officers
- The people who dont like us its simply because they don't have anything else to do, their are not happy with their life and they hate the fact that there are people like my boss that can achieve their dreams.
- The first trip tooked so long because our agents in Colombia did not made his job in 6 months, so when we were suppose to arrive nothing was in order: He's name its MANFRED ALWARDT he and my boss have some personal problems but he also works with a really nice person who is the one who have been helping us.
- We have the most human care personal on board all of them are my friends, some of them are my family, we are people who have been taking care of sick passengers, giving free food when is needed, helping fishermans in the open sees, bringing, trash out of the water, teaching the Guna YalaGuna Yala local people a lot of different things, belive me when i say we do not hurt anybody, all we do is to work so all of our work can see reflected in the trips of our passengers.
8.Gardi tupile it's a international port, the Guna Yala its a different goverment from panama, they set up their own rules it's not a big one but its a Indian Comark, it's all you can spect from honest, trustfull, local people.
9.All that i'm saying here its completely true - Reference:https://www.facebook.com/sanblasferry
