Have recentely found and started to read this interesting book about one mans travels thru Central America and then on to parts of South America. Book is from 1931. Has anyone else heard or him or know of his books?

mitchell hedges was the discoverer of some ruins located in Belize, the ruins are called lubantaan & were excavted in the the 1920s i think. the ruins were not distinctly mayan style nor inca style but rather undefined, & in the centre of one of the pyramids the daughter of mitchel hedges discovered a pure quarts crystal skull. to date it is the largest pieces of quarts crystal without flaws, the skull has been created 100% anatomically correct complete with moving jawbone. the interesting thing is that when crystal is carved it must be carved along the crystal axis otherwise it shatters, but the skull has been created with complete disregard to the crystal axis, also they ran tests on it at the smithsonian institute & with an electromicroscope & couldnt find any tool markings of any sort so its still unclear how the skull was created, because even with todays technology there is always microscopic marks on the crystal.... today the mitchell hedges skull is in canada with his daughter who is now an old lady. you will find lots of info on this topic if you do a google search, i havent read his book but i sure would love to after what i have read about his crystal skull. dont know what else he has written either but a quick search on amazon.com usually reveals all
This crystal skull, like several others supposedly of ancient origin, is widely considered a hoax. Studies of similar crystal skulls indicate that the skulls were made in the 19th century.

you cannot carbon date crystal. therefore the only way to discover its age is by looking at the tool markings & stylisation, since the mitchel hedges skull is 100 % anatomically correct, it is rather more like a accurate replication of a real human skull that a work of art, & the lack of tool markings on the surface of the crystal leave no clue as to how or who made it.... wheather or not mitchel hedges actually found the skull where he said he did is where the doubt lies. But regardless of where is was found im sure his work would be a fascinating read
