Excited to dive! Single woman has 10 days to spend in Belize- Suggestions?

Hi. I have about 10 days to spend in Belize. I'll be traveling as a single woman (my 40 year old bday gift to myself!). I want to spend most of my time diving, relaxing by the water, and meeting other relaxing travelers. I've heard that the live aboards are great. Does anyone have any suggestions for a company to use? Also, if I wanted to stay at a clean and chic but not too expensive resort (with diving), where would you recommend? I can go anytime from Nov to Feb. Thanks! Josie

Liveaboards depends on what you want to dive, and also your diving level, many are in areas that require Advance Certification. Have you considered Bay Islands Honduras? Utila and Roatan are much cheaper and no need for Liveaboard, the reef is right there...you can fly direct to Roatan, or to San Pedro Sula and bus and boat to islands...

unfortunately there is higher crime and no atolls in honduras

If diving is your main goal, Bay Islands, Utila or Roatan, great place's, easy short boat rides to fantastic reefs, like 20 minutes.
Belize is very nice, go to Caye Caulker
Honduras is better and cheaper, just saying.. Can't go wrong with either. No need for live a boards, unless you want to spend a lot of money.

Since you seem to want chic and are willing to consider very expensive live-a-boards then you would probably be happiest looking at Ambergris Caye. Roatan is also very nice, close to the reef and for all budgets.
