ABout what time is the last bus going to Rivas or beyond from the Cr Border?

I dont know what time the last bus runs from Rivas to Penas Blancas, but its best to plan border crossings in the morning and early afternoon at the latest, as you could get hung up in Immigration lines and next thing you know its getting dark, there are busses running from the border to Liberia every half hour to Liberia, and it takes 2 hours to get from border to Liberia, so the latest you want to hit the border is 1pm IMO, allowing 2 hours for immigration will get you into Liberia at 5pm ish...

Its also a rather cheap option to taxi hire from Rivas to the border, as well as from San Juan del Sur or San Jorge after the ferry from Ometepe.

As far as the border, you will have kids approach you to sell you the Immigration forms for $1, but they are free at the Immigration post when getting stamped out and stamped in. You can hire a kid to cut in line for you for a few bucks (Rapido) as welll, if the line is long. There are money changers in the no mans land between the border post, look for older guys that tend to be more honest and have a calculator, know the exchange rates for all currencies, Cords, Colones and USD.

There is a ATM on the CR side by the food court area as well.
