Hey all,

I'm actually leaving for Costa Rica tonight for ten days and have a very rough itinerary in mind. I was thinking about checking out Cahuita, among other places, but read that travel there at this time of year is not recommended. Anyone have any tips as to what beach areas would be better? I know I should expect rain everywhere, but maybe some places are better than others... Also, I'm a woman traveling alone and if anyone knows of places I should avoid, let me know as well.

Thanks for any help!!!

You should expect sunny mornings rainy evenings, avoid walking alone at night in San Jose.

Hi, avoid walking alone everywhere here or any part of the world, the beaches that I like most are Samara, Nosara and beaches arround.
I know that you going to do many friends herel.

Just use the same precautions you would in any place. No matter where you are, avoid walking along at night, don't wear extravagant jewelry or clothing that would mark you as being "well to do", walk holding your purse away from the street etc..

Re: weather - already mentioned. No matter where you go it will be nice in the morning and rainy in the afternoon. The Carib side will be more humid but more laid back.
