Hey guys,

We recently took a 4 night sailng trip through the San Blas Islands with Debbie and Breeze on the Blue Sky. I researched the trip a lot, and read plenty of good and bad reivews of several different boats, some of which looked a bit manufactured by the actual boat owners. I want to give a little back by leaving this review. First things first, to put it simply, this was one of the coolest places I have ever seen. The islands are stunningly beautiful and relatively uncrowded. We…

Hi,

my boyfriend and I will be traveling to Panama end of March beginning of April. We will be surfing at Playa Venao and Bocas del Toro. We are wondering if we should bring our own boards or rent there. Has anyone rented boards at El Sitio at Playa Venao or Bocas del Toro? What kind of boards are available? Was it difficult to rent boards?

How is it traveling around with surfboards in Panama on buses as well as Taxis? Any experience?

Thanks

MÁSmovil

I just bought a MÁSmovil phone and as wondering if anyone knew of how text worked with it? Does it use my minutes or do I have to purchase something else? Also, how many minutes does it use per text if it does?

Thanks

Look folks, there is a difference between sailing from Cartagena to Panama and sailing just among the San Blas islands. The bad stories are about trips between Panama and Cartagena and visa versa. Many times these are boats just making 1 trip and transport people just to make a little money. The boats that sail in the islands are chartered through a couple of agencies and they just sail in the San Blas Islands. Their reputation depends on good service. If they get too many bad reviews the agency…

Hello,

since the discussion about sailboats for the San Blas seems to be pretty active and people seem to have sometimes bad if not even dangerous experiences with these boats, I'd like to take this opportunity to post a recommendation.

We sailed from Cartagena to Panama in the middle of March this year with 10 people and had a fantastic experience on the Luka. The seas are a bit rough this time of the year. The Polish capten Tomek is very experienced and confident, also a very interesting and…

Im planing a 10 day trip to Panama in late May. I know the high season sends mid April- is late May still a god time to go? I am assuming rafting is not an option at that time of year?
Any kind of activites that should be avoided this time a year?
Thanks for your help

Hi - we are due to do a 3 night trip to the San Blas islands on Monday but it looks like our tour operator is going to cancel it (not definite as yet but likely).

Does anyone know any other tour companies that might be able to do something similar - need to return to Panama City after (or go on to Bocas del Toro direct - is that possible?!)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We were going to be spending around $280 and don't really want to pay anymore.

Thanks!

We went on this trip a few months ago leaving from Puerto Lindo. I didn't write anything initially because of laziness, however the more time has gone on, the more I feel it is my responsibility to let other travellers know to help keep safe and spend their money wisely. I spent a while researching what boat to go on to sail from Panama to Columbia without a clear answer emerging as to which were the best boats to go for. We had a short time frame and so little choice. I still don't know which…
