Beach Clean Up Volunteers wanted:,10am ,July 11,2012 Mongre and Rompio Beaches
Need volunteers to help with the clean up of Monagre and Rompio beaches near Chitre.
Volunteers will be given a free night in a dorm bed in exchange for 2-3 hours of volunteering.
Starts at 10am on July 11.2012

I am considering walking this route but wish to know if there are navigational hazards in the jungle that would interfere with standard map/compass navigation. Is there a clear trail?

I also understand i can get my passport stamped out at Puerto Obaldia and into Colombia at Capurgana. Is there any additional monitoring at the border itself or do you just walk right across.

Any information on this route would be gratefully appreciated.

I am traveling with my family next week to Panama City and one of the day trips we'd like to make is to El Valle but we don't want to do a tour. Does anyone know if there are car rental places in the city itself? It wouldn't be cost effective if we had to pay a taxi to take us back to the airport to pick up our rental car.

While I've got your attention, could you add any recommendations for that day trip, ie hot springs, market, waterfalls....or on the way to and from is there any 'must…

hi i am in el valley on my way back to panama to head home on tues. Are there any pack backer friendly beaches I can go two near by for a night or two ? El valley is OK but just not my cup of tea., I wanna get out in the AM if I can

Arriving at SJO on 7/3 at 11:45am and want to get to Boquete, Panama, hopefully the same day. I was going to rent a car at the airport, but understand if you do that you can't leave the country. I looked at bus schedules and doesn't appear that I can make it to Boquete until the following day.

Anyone have suggestions on alternatives to getting to Boquete from San Jose, Costa Rica the same day. Thank you.

I'm heading down to Panama this week. I'll be on my own for 5 days before meeting up with my friends in Panama City. We'll be traveling for an additional 10 days- mostly in and around Panama City.

I am definitely more of a "backpacker" than my friends are and as such am trying to work out a good itinerary for myself. I arrive in Panama City on the 29th and need to be back in the same city on the evening of the 3rd.

I am going to Panama in a few weeks with my 11 and 14 year old kids. I was thinking we'd rent a car in Panama City and drive to Boquete, stopping along the way, then bead over to Bocas. I would like to drop the car off near Bocas so that we can fly back to Panama City, but I can't seem to figure out if there's a place where we could do this. Can we return a rental car in Almirante? Suggestions? Should we just take buses?

Hi all. I'm wondering if there are anything like shuttle vans that run from the airport in Panama City to Pedasi. We don't really want to pay for the additional flight to the Azuero Penisula and it seems that private taxis are also terrifically expensive. We can take the bus but would prefer something in-between, like a van shuttle. Are these or similar forms of transport available, and if so, what is the price range? Many thanks in advance.
