Hello,

i am surching for a trek around Boquete between 12-14 October 2012

I have fount till know only an agency who offers a trip with overnight to Volcan Baru.

They have send me the following notive for La Amistad and the Quetzal Trail

As for the La Amistad park, we do not offer it until the end of the rainy season because this is a region that is especially affected by the weather. In this region it will be raining day and night and the entire trail will be mud...
So yes, if you look around a lot you might be able to find another agency that will offer it. The more unprofessional they are, the more likely they will be to offer it - because if they care about the quality of your experience, they would not offer it.
The Quetzal's trail is not currently offered for a similar reason. It was damaged during the rainy season in late 2010 and is still undergoing repairs. It is not scheduled to reopen before 2013, and there are fines applicable both to tour guides and hikers that would attempt hiking it.

Does someone has expirience with trekking there in October or in the rainy season?
Is the Quetzal Trail complet closed?

Thanks for any kind of answers

Hello together,

i dont find an agency which offers a trip to the volcan with overnight in a tent in October.

Is the rain so terrible that such a trip is unpossible?

Thanky for answers...

Makes sense. Conditions and upkeep of trails in peak rainy season is really bad, and for your safety. Even Corcovado in nearby Costa Rica is closed to visitors in the month of October. October can be a mess in CR/Panama. It can rain feet, not inches...
