Hello all! I am a single, spontaneous traveler that is heading to Panama tomorrow or Wednesday and I was wondering if I could get any information on how to get from the airport to Isla Colon. I have read some of these threads and see that it may be dangerous, and if so, do you have other advice as to where to go. I have a free ticket on TACA and I would like to use it this week to go somewhere that is 'beachy'. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Oh yes, I only have 4-5 days as I have to start work next week! Thanks in advance!

I am wondering if you are confusing Isla Colon with Ciudad de Colon. The first is an island in the Bocas del Toro chain and relatively safe, the other is a fairly dangerous City at the Caribe end of the Panama Canal.

I think you are confused also. I live on Isla Colon which is the main island in Bocas Del Toro. You need to take a airplane from the Albrook airport to get here and its about $80 and 1 hour flight. You could also take a bus and boat but it will take you 10 or more hours. If you ever make it to Bocas Del Toro and to Isla Colon and are looking for a good place to stay check out my place Bahia Del Sol Bed and Breakfast If we are full or we don't meet your needs just let me know your price range and needs and I can make some recommendations.

From The international airport, take a taxi to the albrook airport about an hour before your flight to bocas, isla colon...very safe!
