I believe it is rainy season right now in Panama. Anyone have any input on surfing or snorkeling in Panama during the rainy season? Safety, conditions, is it still worth it to try and surf?

I'm a beginner and planning to take a few surf lessons in the El Palmar area.

Hi There,

Yesterday, I had a very clear sky from my office... My friend is arriving here in 2 weeks and I am planning to show him a bit around my favourite places. San Blas and Pedasi (Isla Iguana) are good for snorkelling as well as the parque nacional of Coiba and for surfing Playa Venao, Santa Catalina and some spots in Bocas. For beginners, El Palmar is ok and close to the city. To answer to your question about the rainy season... well... do not care much and you will be lucky. You may have more sun on the carribean (San Blas and Bocas) than the Pacific side.

Best regards.
Michael
