We'll be going to Panama for two weeks for Christmas/New Years and we were thinking of starting in Santa Catalina, then Boquete, and then: Playa Venao or Boca Brava? Where should we go? Grateful for advice! Lars
Playa Venao and if you need free luggage storage we have it here at Miami Mike s Hostel in Chitre.CONVENIENTLY located between the Pan Americam Highway and Playa Venao!

Well, I have never been to Playa Venao so I can't really make specific comments about it but I would like to say that if you are already going to be in Santa Catalina (presumably you are surfers) then Playa Venao is a popular surfing spot also. There is a lot of great surfing spots in the Golfo de Chiriqui (Boca Brava area), but you would have to be willing to charter a small boat to get you out to the good breaks. If you are not interested in surfing, then I wouldn't even recommend Santa Catalina (unless you are going there for diving). Boca Brava makes logistical sense to do when you are in or around the Boquete area since they are both in the Chiriqui Province. Hope that helps a little.
