Will be in Panama from 15th until 22nd November. We will fly into Panama City from Cuba. As we will spend two weeks first in Cuba with an set itinerary, we would prefer not to plan our week in Panama until we arrive to keep our options open. We are thinking of either going to the rainforest or Bocas del Toro and San Blas. With limited time, we would probably prefer to fly where possible instead of long busrides. Does anyone know if it is necessary to book flights, accmodiation or activities such as diving or surf classes ahead or can we arrange everything once we are there?

Thanks.

With those dates you should be fine in bocas although I can't speak'for'san blas. Do you know where in bocas you are planning on staying? San blas is more deserted beaches than rain forest. Bocas you can have both but I would at lesst search before hand at an area you would like. Its a large area.

Thaks, We haven't really done much research yet, but maybe Bocas town is a good option to stay? Or would you recommend somewhere else?

I can speak for San Blas as I usually arrange my trips 48 hours before departure. I can provide you my friends contact organize transport and accomodation in Isla Diablo. Kind Regards.

Panama resident, does the San Blas get crowded for Fiestas Patrias?

If you stay in Bocas I would stay somewhere like Playa Paunch or Playa Bluff (tesero escondido is great). They are on the same island as Bocas town but out of town. yhere you can have beach and jungle.
