I'm flying into Panama City at 10:30 p.m. I understand there's an express bus to David that leaves Panama City at midnight. Is it possible to go through customs at Tocumen and take a bus or taxi to the Albrook Terminal bus station to make the midnight express to David? My thinking is it would be great to catch some sleep on the bus and arrive in David in the early morning for the first full day. I guess my question boils down to: A) Is there, in fact, still a midnight bus from PC to David? and B) How long does it take to get from Tocumen to the Albrook Terminal and by what means (taxi or shuttle bus)?

If it's not possible, does anyone have recent experience sleeping in the Tocumen airport?

Yes, you should be able to make it. Customs at that hour will be pretty quick, and a taxi to Albrook will take about 30 minutes (and cost more than the bus ride to David). I am 100% SURE that there is a midnight bus from Panama City to David.

How can I be so sure?

Because every other day or so, at around 5:30-6:00am, I am awoken to the blaring lights and horn honking of taxis outside the hostel, who are carrying tourists here from that very bus!

In fact, I think that there is a 10:45pm as well...which explains why sometimes people arrive at the ungodly hour of 4:00am.
