Hello everybody,
first I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me in the past on planning our trip to Central America. 3 months into our trip and most of the suggestions etc. helped a lot.
Anyway, if anyone of you guys stay in Panama, make sure to check out Lost and Found hostel. It is located on the highway between Bocas and David right in the cloud forest. When coming from David, you will pass a toll booth in a place called Valle de la Mina and around 100m after that you'll see a sign saying "You have found the lost paradise". When coming from Bocas you will pass a lake/dam called Fortuna (I think) and around 10 minutes later you'll see the sign on your right.
Be prepared, it's a little hike up to the hostel but not too bad and the views from up there are amazing. You can do hiking trips right from the hostel and the owner (Andrew) arranges all sorts of other trips as well, coffee tours, horseback riding, hot springs etc.
They have a dorm (with double bed bunks, really comfy) and a couple of private rooms. There's also a communal kitchen and HOT showers!!! You can bring food up to cook for yourself or if you don't want to carry something you can buy food up there as well. There's canned foods and also fresh veggies and meat in the freezer. You won't be starving that's for sure.
The dorms were $12 per person $20 for 2 sharing and the private rooms $25 for the room, I think.
It truly is a great place to stay. Loads of fun and you'll get to see a few animals knocking about after dark too.
Well, if you have any questions about Lost and Found or anything else about Central America, send me a PM and I'll try and help. Please be patient as I don't access the internet that often but I'll try and answer as quick as possible.
Cheers, Yvonne
