I'll have some free time in Panama and I'm looking for somewhere to go for three days that is on the beach and hopefully not too expensive. I will be originating in Panama city and would like to travel to the beach from a thursday late afternoon to fly out sunday midday from Panama City again.
Would LOOOOOVE any suggestions!

You might check out the Andiamo website: www.theandiamo.com. Tony Santos has inexpensive 2 night Kuna Yala sailing cruises. It's just a few hours from PC. I did one in 2010, high point of my trip. Fantastic beaches on those islands.
San Carlos... 90 minute bus ride from Panama City ( surf beaches)
Farallon... 30 minutes beyond San Carlos (white sand beaches here)
Pedasi area beaches... Pedasi is a 5 hour bus ride from P.C.
Santa Catalina... 7 hour by bus from P.C. (surfing, free or scuba dive at Coiba National Park offshore,
also reefs near Santa Catalina, fishing)
