I'm off to Panama City February 6 to 15th. I hear it's high season, and therefore, more packed than usual. So I'm wondering if I need to book a flight from Panama City to Bocas Del Toro ahead of time, then, before I even leave for PC.

I usually like to walk into the airport and buy a flight when I'm ready to. I have no idea how long I want to kick around the city before heading to the coast, and also, how long I want to be in Boca before heading back to Panama City.

Will it be rather flexible this time of year to get flights spontaneously?

still pretty flexable, you can your ticket a day or 2 before you want to go...

we missed our flight PTY - BOC on Dec. 24th due to a 3 day weather delay in north american airports. we tried stand by on the 25th without success, but after the flight left we were offered seats on a new flight they had opened for the 26th as there was additional demand and the 2 pre-scheduled flights were full (aeroperlas). as this was during the busiest time of the year, i think you'll be ok in february booking a day or two in advance.

Same question, what about now? I hear the tourist season runs through April or so. I'd rather fly Air Panama, and I sent in a reservation request but haven't heard back. I could book with Aeroperlas, but should I go ahead and book, or will there be flights available day of? Thanks

I'm also trying to get to Bocas del Toro and have tried booking flights with airpanama but have gotten no replies. I emailed them for the first time over a week ago and since then have emailed them five times total looking to make reservations. When I still didn't get any replies I tried calling them (all of the numbers I found for them-- about 6 different numbers) and all of the numbers were invalid..... Does airpanama even exist? Should I forget about airpanama and move on to book my flights with another company?

Or can I just show up to their office the day of the flight and try to make it? (but I am with a party of 3, so that seems risky)
