Can anyone advise what happens at the following five annual festivals in January, whether each is worth attending for the casual traveller, and if so is it best to be there in the morning, afternoon or evening?

In Azuero: on January 6th 2015 from Chitré, I will go by public bus to Macaracas for its fiesta; on the 20th by rental car to Ocú for its Feria de San Sebastien, and the next day (21st) drive to Guararé for the fiesta.

I’m considering the Santo Patrono festivities on the 20th at San Carlos (Panamá) on the coast near the turn off to El Valle. Also inviting is the Festival de la Naranja at Churuquita Grande (Coclé), NE of Penonomé. But when will this occur? It seems for some days around 15-18th, but I wonder if in 2015 it might still be active on the 19th or 20th − I can find nothing online.

Any info on the above much appreciated − it will assist where to rent the car for 2 days (& return to same place) − in Santiago (Thrifty), Chitré (lots of companies), or Penonomé (Dollar). To help, is it possible to drive an ordinary compact vehicle south from Santiago 20kms to El Tigre, then (for fun) along what looks like a dirt road east 8 kms to Las Flores/Los Llanos, which is then a short 12km hop to Ocú for the fiesta? Again, nothing found online or in guidebooks on this.
