Hello, I am headed to panama city in about a week and was curious about hotels or hostels there. One with a kitchen is basically a must, has to be safe, easy to get places, and 25 dollars max for my boyfriend and I together. I hear panama city is a little bit more expensive then other places in panama but I'm really hoping to still find a nice budget accommodation. Thank you very much!

Hello,

I would recommend Hostal Mamallena. It was $28 for a double private room, which I understand is slightly over your budget, but PC is a bit more expensive. It is in a great location; near a large grocery store and within walking disctance to Casco Viejo. You can also hop on any of the buses on the main street that say "Terminal" which go to the Albrook Terminal. From there you can go anywhere in the city/country.

Enjoy Panama City!

Yes, Mamallena is superior. Has a kitchen, pancakes free, $1 beer, Doors on the stereo. Cheap taxi to Albrook and the airport. Travel agency, panamatravelunlimited. I am not affiliated, but hope to cop a free beer or 2 some day.

I definitely recommend Luna's Castle... 13 dollars a night, upgrade for a solo room with AC is only a couple bucks more... 50 cent beers at happy hour, free pancake breakfast, free internet, movie theater on the inside, and the girls at the desk can help you arrange travel to other places (San Blas, Colombia, etc.)
